Gay dating without dating apps. Impossible?

Is it impossible to date guys without dating apps? I can’t even imagine myself ever using dating apps for the sake of the premise of so many fish in the sea syndrome. I had hook up apps and I’ve hated the experience. So am I doomed to just have a more difficult time finding men that will date me without the luxury of easy dating apps?
