Been meeting with this older scruffy daddy bear type for casual fwb for over a year and a half, which is quite a long time for me since this would be my longest situationship I’ve ever had. We’ve established a good relationship that has satisfied me and him until this point. He’s asked me out a while ago but I decided to only be fwb whom are also exclusive since we also go raw. But yesterday’s in midst of our usual sensual evening he confessed he felt guilty about finding himself looking at other people and relationships even though he and I are both in a situationship. He described us as a “routine” and was telling me of how he’s going to be 50 one day and never be in a relationship or have a boyfriend. He kept talking about our huge age gap and how it might affect that. He also asked me about my thoughts, honestly I’m still processing this so I gave him a short answer he probably wanted to hear. He wanted to clarify what our relationship was, I told him that we agreed on being friends with benefits. Looking back now I feel he didn’t like the response. Honestly I wasn’t in the right mind set to have such a crucial and delicate conversation, I had other pervy issues in mind. He seemed really agitated, ashamed and weak confessing this to me. Can someone please give me advice on how I should approach this? I really don’t want our situationship to change but I also hate seeing my friend at a cross road.
