I'm about 2 sessions into running my first 5e campaign, and i don't believe that I'm familiar enough with the system to judge how balanced something is. One of my players last season brought me this https://www.gmbinder.com/share/-LH0NSVyxHz16mH-nmUR and I need a second opinion on its balance. For reference, this is the player's first go at ttrpg, and I'm a 20 year veteran. I'm not terribly concerned about power gaming, but i do worry that if it's underpowered that he won't have as much fun.
At first glance, the counterattack ability at 3rd level seems very powerful and it doesn't seem to be equivalent to what the other traditions get at that level. Most of the rest of the tradition seems to build upon that, but overall seems kind of weak. But, that could just be my unfamiliarity with the system.
I want to allow the player to play the flavor he wants, so is there anything you would change to balance this out?
