I have booked a vacation in the south of France at the start of summer, and we will go there by car. I would like to know something about driving laws in France.
I have read online that in Spain, you can be fined for driving shirtless, and the reason is the lawmakers seem to be under the impression the seatbelt can hurt you (perhaps based on very old first generation seatbelts, as I really don't see how this can happen with the seatbelts in my more modern car). On contrast; in Germany you can drive your car fully naked if you want to, just as long as you don't step out of your car naked (you can be naked on any private property, and the inside of your car counts as such). In the Netherlands, driving naked is not allowed (no real reason provided), but driving shirtless is not a problem.
I just can't find information about what is allowed in France... Can I drive without my shirt on? (I hope so, as it feels much better.) Or can I get in trouble with the police?
