It's pretty well known that sexists regard women as frail and weak and I imagine we can all recite their "reasoning" by heart. But what I don't understand: Why are they so often worried specifically about the uterus?
The instances off the top of my head:
When trains were invented, they were afraid uteruses couldn't handle the inhuman speed (1).
Ski jumping was only made olympic for women in 2012 (not a typo! 11 years ago) because now it was the impact of landing that had their panties in a bunch (2).
And what do I read today? Apparently NASA scientists were afraid that in weightlessness, the blood&lining couldn't come out during periods (3).
So what gives? Why not, say, the breasts? Or the labia minora?
I would also be delighted to read other ridiculous examples of men clutching their pearls at situations that may be harmful to the uterus.

Edit:
u/willawong150 has posted an interesting comment with a source I would like to put in here as theirs is a nested comment that not everyone is going to see:
I get that but zero gravity is a different ball game when it comes to effects on the body, weβre still learning the short term and long term effects on our bodies. Anyways I did do some reading into it and it definitely came from sexism.
