hey all! i’m a 19 year old currently attending community college in the states and plan on transferring to university once i get my associates degree, and through the stressful process that has been deciding my future, i have been drawn to the idea of moving and living in europe for a couple years now.
the thought has been with me since i visited Iceland, Germany and Austria on a three week exchange trip with my high school german class two summers ago, and i immediately fell in love with every location we visited and every person i met. since then, i’ve been trying to figure out what i want to do in life, and right now i’m just looking for advice on what i can do in order to end up in europe. i’m aware that the process of applying for EU citizenship and everything that comes along with that requires an extreme amount of rigor and determination, and i’m also aware that, ideally, i should have a place picked out early so i can prematurely begin the moving process by learning a foreign language - right now i know a very basic level of german and am taking an introductory spanish class at school this semester (there was no intro to german class offered, otherwise i would have tried to expand my german language knowledge).
i’m not sure where exactly i would want to live in Europe - i’m sorry! i’m open to living anywhere that has great healthcare services, educational services, and a more humanistic way of life. as of right now i understand that bigger countries such as Germany, France, or Spain are all great to live in, but i’m very open to any and all other suggestions.
essentially, i’m just trying to come up with a type of map that could get me to Europe in the future, and the only way i can make this map is if i know what i should be doing now and in the future.
if it helps, my hobbies/passions include politics, history, soccer, and music, while school subject-wise i have historically been good at math (although not my favorite subject) as well as any sort of history or english/language.
i’m also sorry if this post is very convoluted and out of order. lately it feels like my mind has been racing all over the place in terms of trying to figure out what i want to do in life, and seems to have no interest in stopping anytime soon.
any responses will be greatly appreciated! again, just looking for very simple recommendations on paths i could potentially take to get myself to Europe. thank you!
