Dear all,
Since the last round of moderator applications (three years ago!) the subreddit - and concurrently the AskEurope Discord server - has grown substantially. We're keen to expand the moderator team as a result.
What kind of person are we looking for?
We are not looking for ‘subreddit collectors’ who have a tangential interest in the subreddit. We are looking for people who feel like they've been involved in this community for some time. You do not need to be a constant commenter and poster to apply - just someone who engages with the subreddit and who has a stake in it.
Prior experience moderating communities - on Reddit or elsewhere - is not necessarily required (though it certainly doesn't hurt).
But ultimately, even if you feel ‘underqualified’ or ‘overqualified’ your application is welcome!
Application form (Google Sheets)
The application form should take about thirty minutes to complete. You might want to write your answers down somewhere else first and then input them into the form in case of glitches, or just complete the form in one sitting. There often aren’t default ‘correct’ answers, so answering truthfully gives us useful insights. You are welcome to write as much or as little as is required to articulate your thoughts.
If you have any questions, please feel free to use the modmail. We are looking forward to reading your applications and wish everyone well.
- the moderator team of /r/AskEurope
Applications close on the 24th of this month (a Friday) at 20:00 Central European Time (UTC 1). If you are interested, make sure to submit your application by then. We intend to have new moderators in place by the end of this month.
