Tips for finding supply/chemical/commodity cost estimates

In the early phases of planning, I frequently find myself hunting through pages of Google search results to find ballpark figures for the costs of chemicals or materials that I'm interested in. I know real world pricing for process inputs is complex and variable, but I was hoping you folks might have some favorite sources for no-nonsense numbers to plug into back of the envelope proposals. Where do you start?
