I am trying to improve a filament spool winder design. And although im planning to copy it I am hoping to understand more what this part is called and why it works. It works great but I have no idea how and why. Would be great to know how it works to what extent I can play with the shape and size. Specifically curious if I can make the ruts it travels on deeper.
Im assuming this is a part that has existed before it was put in a filament spool winder.
Essentially it has this sort of triangular shape and seems to wobble back and forth as it is turned and due to the shape of the groves it ends up oscillating the triangular part back and forth.
