Hello everybody! Personally I am a fabricator/welder, and I trying to make a personal project, basically I'm trying to make a coin operated system that's used in the Gumball machines, and yes I know I can buy one, but I want to make it, I've managed to wrap my head around just about everything, except the one part which the handle connects and inside there's a right angle gear system, and with 1 full rotation of the handle at the front, turns the bottom plate in the gumball machine 1/3rd dispensing a gumball.

I want to cut 1 plate of a diameter about 100mm with 8 teeth, and then another plate of a larger diameter that has slots cut into it for the teeth of the smaller plate to slot into and rotate the large plate 1/3rd, I just seem to be having a hard time wrapping my head around calculating the PCD of the 24 slots in the larger diameter plate and its leaving me stumped, so I'm hoping someone here might be able to give me some help?
