Structal engineers. Need to know is this safe or ill I die a horrible death?

I have a crawl space in my basement. I would really like to know if I could dig it out. I really doubt it. But I really only need to dig about 2.5 feet or maybe 3 at most. Be really cool to have this extra space. Please let me know your thoughts. Yay or nay? Apparently I can't post pics so dm me if you'd like or leave a comment so I can contact you.

It's a room attached to my basement. Be Better if I could just post pictures. Also I would never just dig out the basement without a local contractor out to inspect the crawl space. I would just like some expert opinions.
