Post Body

Hello,

I am interested on sniffing DDC/CI signals, I have seen an HDMI breakout cable, that exposes the DDC interface pins to an I2C protocol analyzer.

I have read about people doing something similar by soldering additiona cables on VGA connectors, but I have not seen anything similar for DP cables.

I was thinking on two options:

1) Soldering cables to a DP cable to expose the interfaces

2) Creating a PCB board similar to this block:

I would like to hear your thoughs about both approaches.

Is it feasible to modify the cable? what cares should I have?

If I decided to do the pcb, what cares should be taken? specially regarding tracks length, and similar requirements?
