Does it matter which way you wire a SPST switch?

Most ppl say no, it doesn't matter, but some say yes, one side has the moving leg while the other has the end that doesn't move. Apparently which way the current flows matters when breaking and opening? Generally I see the vs on the side with the leg tjat goes up to open circuit and the other end goes to the load.
