Hello all,
We're trying to get a Texas Instruments EM1401EVM configured for use with a 12s2p lithium ion pack, and we're having trouble. Right now we're stuck configuring everything over PuTTy because our VSCom USB-CAN adapter doesn't want to receive frames (it ACKs but it doesn't transmit from the CAN Controller to the processor for some reason), but I digress. We can send CAN messages to the BMS - and one of the messages the CAN protocol document (PDF Warning) lists is a Configuration message with the following data frame:
Byte | Value |
---|---|
1 | Number of Cells |
2 | Manufacturer Code LSB |
3 | Manufacturer Code MSB |
4 | Chemistry Code LSB |
5 | Chemistry Code MSB |
6 | Max Charge Current (Tenths of Amps) |
7 | Max Voltage (Tenths of volts) |
8 | Min Voltage (Tenths of volts) |
Number of cells, max charge current, and the max/min voltage is known, but what would the Manufacturer Code and the Chemistry Code be? If I don't know them can I leave them as 0x00? These are specifically modules from a Nissan Leaf 2013.
This is a bit of a hail mary I know, but I've seen some experienced BMS folks (cough /u/1Davide cough) around this subreddit before, so here's hoping someone knows!
