Convert 220v receptacle to generator Help
Post Body

Trying to figure out how to convert 220v welder receptacle in my garage. Previous owner installed a 30amp 120v receptacle for an air compressor (I converted into a 120v RV receptacle) and a 50amp 240volt 3 prong welder receptacle, below main breaker panel. There's a junction box above the panel that I'm assuming they used to run neutrals, or other wires? I'm wanting to get a portable generator and backfeed it, and wanting to do it safely. The 3 prong welder receptacle has 2 hots, ground, and a white wire in the box that is capped with wire nut. How do I go about this?
