In one of our classes on Sleep, our prof said serotonin gets converted to endorphins in the brain (the hypothalamus if I recall correctly).
I've never come across this in my research on serotonin.
Does anyone know whether this is true, and if it is, do you know of any research on it? I've done some literature searches and came up empty handed.
edit: for those still interested, I asked him and he thanked me for pointing it out because the info was wrong and he corrected it in his slides. Strange, because he said it with such conviction during the lecture.
