Are there any risks to using Aveeno daily moisturizing lotion (dimethicone) on a non-daily basis?

This may sound stupid, but whenever I use this, I usually use it once every two or three weeks, because I only end up using it when my hands are dry to the point of discomfort instead of daily. :/ Whenever I use a lot of it like this though, I feel my hands heat up and become red after about half an hour. Are there risks to using it this way that I am feeling negative effects of?
