Hi all, I do have an appointment with my primary care doctor, but not until next week.
I am 38/F, 5’7”, 150 lbs, relatively good health, moderately active overall, two herniated discs in my neck that are not severe, but have their moments but cause more shoulder pain than anything in my head. Live in southeastern US.
During sex last week, I developed a very severe headache within a couple of seconds in the middle of my forehead, as in full stop, wracked in pain. It lasted about 20-30 mins and never fully went away although the severity went from a 10 down to a 3. I googled it and apparently a sex headache is a common occurrence, although I have never had it happen. Since then, I have had a lingering, persistent headache that has moved to different parts of my head for the past 5-6 days, sometimes in the back of my head, where my neck muscles are, sometimes in my temples, around my forehead, etc. I have a massage scheduled tomorrow to see if it helps while I’m waiting for my primary care appointment, but if not, I’m wondering if this is an urgent care issue?
I had migraines growing up and they run in my family, but I probably have only had one since I got out of high school. I am really well hydrated and can’t think of anything else that could be causing this but it’s starting to get really concerning. Excedrin helps, but only for a few hours at
