What causes septa in a renal cyst?
Post Body

40 Female 115 White Non-smoker Rare alcohol Meds: occasional aspirin Existing medical issues: variant of uncertain significance for msh6 Lynch syndrome w history of precancerous colon polyps No family history of kidney cancer or disease

Current concern: kidney cyst w calcification & septation discovered by ultrasound August 2021 Called Bosniak 2 on MRI December 2021 Called Bosniak 2F on MRI November 2022

I’m trying to get clarification from radiology as to specifically WHY it’s been upgraded but it maybe because the first MRI noted 2 septations while the recent says there are a few.

What could cause a new septation to develop?
