On Halloween this year myself (24f) and my partner (25m) went to a gig. When I was there I had 3 seizures. I had never had one before. I kept feeling strange, like my whole body kept going rigid then it would go back to normal. The last thing I remember was a light hitting my eye then being on the floor. While I’m the crowd I had 2 tonic-clinic seizures. I do have some awareness. I remember my head hitting the floor repeatedly and hearing people around me. I urinated and vomited on myself. I then got taken to a medical room and had 1 more seizure. At A&E I got told all bloods were normal and CT was fine. I was told it was unlikely to happen again but did get referred to neurology. They all lasted between 2 and 3 minutes.
Other than a concussion I was fine, then at work on the 9th of November I had another seizure. That one lasted about 2 minutes.
From then till now I’ve had 25 seizures and i’ve been signed off work. I had 8 seizures this Friday just gone, one lasted 7 minutes which is the longest one I’ve had. The entire episode of seizures lasted about 25 minutes. 999 was called and I got taken into hospital for the night. They basically said there is nothing we can do for you apart from make neurology aware of your continuation of seizures. I have a MRI and EEG booked for the start of December.
The neurologist I was seen by when I got admitted to hospital the third seizure I had told me he was sure it’s not epilepsy and that it’s most likely Non-epileptic attack disorder and is caused by anxiety but I am not anxious at all (apart from the fact I keep having seizures 😆) As a teenager I had a lot of issues with depression/eating disorders and PTSD however I am the most settled and happiest I’ve been in my entire life so I don’t understand why if it’s due to anxiety this is happening now. Apparently the neurologist doesn’t want to see me for 4 months after my MRI and EEG. I feel like I’m just being left to have seizures like it isn’t a big deal.
Is there anything else it could be or anything that’s causing it? I’ve started taking CBD oil which has really helped. I went 4 days without a seizure which is the longest in the last 2 weeks I’ve gone, before that it was daily.
Sorry for the long post, I just feel like I’m not getting any help.
