I’m a 20 year old male, who’s been experiencing severe headaches for a few months now. It all started after a painful bowel movement, in which I strained… I’ve been dealing with constipation and bloody hard stools since I was a kid. But it’s gotten worst over the last 2 years. It’s come to a point where even soft stools are hard to pass. I haven’t had a normal bowel movement in months…now I’m experiencing severe headaches after every bowel movement (specifically in the temples, and behind the eyes) throbbing and bulging veins near the ears, and in the temples, very tender to the touch. My vision is also blurry. I went to the emergency room a month ago, and they performed a CT scan. They found nothing abnormal with the brain…they say it was an exertion headache (due to staining during bowel movements), that led to migraines. I wasn’t convinced, so I had to do research for myself. All my symptoms point to Temporal Arteritis, which is usually found in much older people. Could this be the root cause of these painful headaches?
