I went to see a PCP today for the first time in, well, pretty much my adult life. I've had a herniated belly button for several years now and never thought much of it except to not lift anything too heavy. When the doc checked it out, he said I'm torn from almost six inches above my navel to about three inches below it, and he mentioned that's likely what's causing my acid reflux.
My question is basically, is that a common sized hernia? What are the options to correct it? Is it correctable? I understand these are all things I should have asked him during the appointment but I was kinda shocked and not really sure what to do in the moment. I'm not going to panic regardless of your answers. I'm just curious. Thanks in advance.
