HSV2 Vs Shingles

Hello. I'm a 27 year old female. About 5 2 200lbs. Never smoked. A few years ago I was diagnosed with HSV2. It has only ever came on my head knee and arm. Every doctor/nurse has said they thought it was shingles. That came back negative. Antivirals make it worse. The only thing that helps is lidocaine jelly. All my doctors are confused. I've only ever been with my husband and he doesn't have it. Can anyone explain this?
