Am I overreacting or not worried enough about Lyme?
Post Body

19M, 5'10" 140lbs.

About three weeks ago, I got a sort of pimple on my middle bicep area that hurt quite a bit for about a week, and was accompanied by some intermittent tingling too. Although at the time I didn't make the connection, this did follow a hike through the woods. The was an area of redness around it about the size of a silver dollar or so. Because I'm a hypochondriac and was paranoid about staph, I went to the ER, where they took a look at it and seemed pretty much entirely unconcerned, they just told me to do warm compresses and prescribed an antibiotic if it wasn't better. I never ended up taking the antibiotic because most of the pain and redness went away, however there's still a mark there, and there seems to be a small hard lump underneath the skin. There was some skin peeling over the area too. Here are some pictures of the spot:

As you can see, nothing here really looks like your typical bite, although there's maybe a small faint bullseye in the second March 23rd one, but that doesn't seem to show up in other photos. However, I've begun to worry about Lyme. Over the past few days, there has been some transient joint pain throughout my body, maybe hurting any particular joint intermittently for about a day or so, i.e. a couple of days ago my right elbow would randomly start hurting for a few seconds at a time, and last night my right hip was aching for about an hour or so. I also was having an intermittent pain behind my ear all day yesterday, it would only last for a few seconds but was really painful. Also, since yesterday, I've had a sore throat that's been getting steadily worse. I have seasonal allergies, and usually get sore throats around this time of year, but I haven't been having a runny nose or itchy eyes or anything, and after reading that sore throat can be an early sign of Lyme I'm sort of freaking out about it. I've also been light headed and slightly dizzy lately. I don't take any medications and don't really have a medical history that would relate to any of this, I did once get a bullseye rash maybe 7 years ago, but I went to the hospital pretty much right away and got antibiotics before I felt any symptoms.

As far as I can tell, I don't have a fever(laser thermometer last read 93-95), and am not experiencing a lot of fatigue(I was able to take a walk through the woods for about an hour without getting too bogged down).

My doctor was not concerned, but did want to do a test, however I have a huge fear of blood draws so I turned it down at the time, but now I'm rethinking that.

So I just don't know here, am I overreacting or am I not freaking out enough here? Does this sound like Lyme? Again, my doctor was unconcerned at the time, and said that the spot did not look like a tick bite and that with Lyme there would also be swelling associated with the pain. I feel stuck because I'm very afraid of Lyme disease, but also very afraid of getting a blood test, in fact I'd probably need to take an Ativan(but even that wasn't enough to override the anxiety last time). I feel like the answer is probably that it's worth it to go and get tested just to make sure, and not let this get worse, but that requires a lot of willpower.
