...I don't want to play, Timmy the Tum..er..yeah.
Anyway...a recent hot topic here got me second guessing my admittedly poor decision to ignore my hernia. Some pertinent info...
Male/40/Smoker/200lbs/5'10
I first noticed my little tummy tommy late November, 2017. An odd pain behind my belly button. Soon after my inny became and outie. So over the last few years he has only ever really made himself known a handful of times, usually with some dull ache, maybe slightly more than dull but never anything I ever became concerned about.
Now, since I am pretty typical I obviously diagnosed myself as well as decided on my own treatment, or lack thereof based pretty much solely on medical websites and forums. The general theme I came to believe was that this type of hernia can safely be ignored until...it cuts itself off and I die. Well, yeah kinda I guess. So up until moments ago, strangulation was the only concern I had when it came to tommy down there. I'd really like toi believe that nothing has changed and if it's not hurting or obstructing, it's actually safe to ignore?
I know that any replies I get are meaningless compared to getting me and Tommy boy into a doctors office. But for the time being that isn't something I see in my cards.
Am I missing something? Is there like 20 other things just as bad as strangulation that I somehow missed? I can't believe I'm actually worried about my health now. I wish I would have done so so, so much sooner.
Thanks everyone!
