Can cystic thyroid nodules affect speaking/singing?
Post Body

18F, 5'3, 149lbs, just some acid reflux, but recently after I got a cat scan (and surgery) from a motor vehicle accident, they found some thyroid nodules and sent me to an endocrinologist.

She did the ultrasound on my neck today and none of the nodules look serious or concerning in size, but there are three of them that are cystic and will need to monitored every year from now on.

Usually, I have a little trouble swallowing sometimes or feel like there's a literal lump (like mucus or something) in my throat whenever I speak or sing. It makes my voice crack and it's embarrassing.

Now that I've been taking singing lessons and wanting to do more with my voice, I'm scared my cystic nodules will get in the way and alter the way I sound, or even prevent me from sounding good, or at least making it significantly harder to.
