Extreme constipation every few months.

26m, 6ft, 275lbs. This has been happening for about 1.5 years. Every few months I get this really bad bout of constipation. On the normal I'm very regular. It feels like my insures have completely dried out. Usually lasts about two weeks. Last time I took 2 magnesium citrate to help clear me out. And a bunch of stool softeners. I constantly feel like my intestines is trying to deposit stool in my anus(sorry. Best way I can describe the feeling), but something is blocking it. Any idea on what it may be? Please help.
