38M. Obese.
As one can imagine, I've had back issues my entire life from carrying weight. Disc issues (L4/L5) in high school, and then actually fractured two vertebrae in roughly the same area in a freak accident.
Carrying the extra weight, I'm used to an occasional disc slip or tight back. But it is usually lower back related. This is more mid-back (a few inches below armpit if you will). It's on both sides, and it spasms if I look down with my neck and is very tight in general. Might be my lat(s), hard to say. Primary discomfort is about 1-2 inches horizontally from spine.
Ice, NSAID, arthritis creams, etc is current line of treatments.
It doesn't feel disc-related at all. Pain itself is just a dull ache except when it "catches" in a spasm. Actually started when I was just walking and about to reach for something.
But any suggestions? (And yes, I am successfully and actively losing weight as we "speak" and have been doing so all year thankfully for my long term goals and health.)
