I'm a 46 year old female living in the UK, 5ft 2 in height, weight is 13 stone. I have over curvature of the spine with four loose discs, one which is herniated.
I'm hoping someone can give me a bit of peace and tell me I'm over reacting because right now I'm exceptionally worried.
I injured my back 28 years ago resulting in over curvature of the spine, with four loose discs, one of which is herniated. I have developed over the past year an issue with my bladder and getting to the bathroom in time and frequent trips to the toilet to have diarrhea with accompanying stomach pain. I also have numbness occasionally around my anus, shooting pains down my legs. The area around my anus feels similar to the feeling when you get a dead leg from sitting on it wrong. (feeling like you are being touched through multiple layers of cotton wool). I am on pain killers for my back, they don't get rid of all the pain but they do dull it somewhat. Doctors do not want to increase it at this time.
I'm scared that I'm going to end up in nappies. My doctor has put me on the list for a MRI, planning to compare it to one I had in 2018. I don't really want to go to the hospital because of everything going on at the mo but know I probably need to go. I have been told that if my legs go numb or butt, I should go straight to A E. Please tell me everything is going to be OK.
