Hello guys,
i live in Bergamo which is the hardest hitten city by covid-19 in italy and my anxiety is over the top right now so i would like to ask a few questions.
When i was a kid i was diagnosed with allergic asthma and i was prescribed ventolin to use during attacks, i don't remember much of it, i only had it in spring and when i was close to cats.
I know i still have asthma now (i'm 29) because sometimes it's very clear to me, especially when i'm close to cats, i start wheezing and there is no doubt i'm having an asthma attack.
But recently due to the covid outbreak i think my anxiety is making me thinking i'm having asthma attacks even when i'm not.
It's a different feeling then the wheeze, it's more like if sometimes my lungs are not expanding completely when i make a deep breath and i'm struggling to understand if that's asthma, anxiety or something else.
A week ago i bought a pulse oximeter and the readings were always ok, even during the so called attacks ( spo2 >97%) but i read somewhere that for asthma spo2 are not a good indicator so i also bought a peak flow meter.
My values were extremely good compared to what i was seeing online (all between 760 and 800 even when i was feeling like having an asthma attack) and so i had a big relief but then i called my doctor which told me that even if i had those good readings i could still have asthma and now i'm a little bit confused.
So my question is, is peak flow meter of any utility at all?

Thank you guys.
