About me...
I'm 44, 5'9", 220 (was up to 235), never smoked, never drink, no illicit drugs at all including pot. Generally pretty sedentary with a desk job. Cholesterol at the start of 2018 was 201 and blood pressure has been touching the "high" marks but my doctor hasn't put me on medications for either, just told me to make some changes. Since then, I've worked to be more active. Dropped my cholesterol in 2018 to 130 and got blood pressure in the normal range. Last I checked at the end of 2019, it was 160 and blood pressure a tad up.
I started noticing that my erections weren't getting as hard back when I was like 41. By the time I was 42, I noticed a couple of times I would lose my erection. I really stressed about it in 2018 and wondered about the cause. I busted my butt in 2018 worrying that maybe I had physical issues, like cardiovascular disease or something. But then at the end of 2018 and shedding stress about it, I noticed that the boners had improved with watching my diet and busting my butt trying to get active. This was to the point where I had two consecutive mornings of really solid morning wood, which has become very infrequent as well. Another thing, too, is that I don't feel like I get the natural urges. I'm very interested in sex, but I don't have the natural urges giving me the crazy thirst for it.
Yes, I've talked to my primary doctor about it and a urologist. They both say I'm fine and don't give much explanation. And I guess I'm in a situation that is typical for guys in their 40s? ...erections aren't as strong as they used to be and requires physical stimulation to get up.
So I guess my questions are...
Is this really common for guys my age?
Is there an explanation or reasoning?
It makes me feel like I haven't taken care of my body well enough. I get frustrated seeing guys my age or older saying they don't have any issues getting up and get rock hard.
