Complaint: I've been having chest pains. I've also been feeling out of breath when climbing a few flights of stairs sometimes. A visit to the cardiologist on Thursday occurred during a relatively arrhythmia-free time, but they spotted one PVC on the 12 lead ECG. Cardiologist took a blood draw and followup is scheduled for mid-April. I've noticed that the PVCs and chest pain have been coming more and more frequently over the last week. I THINK it seems to be triggered by caffeine, but the last few days I haven't had any caffeine or alcohol and I've still been noticing them. I don't think my stress levels are high, but I've always felt my stress physically, so perhaps I'm more stressed than I think.
Medical history: I have a hiatal hernia, GERD, and IBS-D. Hernia and GERD were diagnosed with an endoscopy in 2017. Family history of sleep apnea, My ex-GF noticed an apnea event last year, but since I started sleeping with an angle pillow my quality of sleep has dramatically improved. I also have ADHD - I was on 5 mg Adderall for a few months last year but discontinued because it was very annoying to visit the psychiatrist every month to get refills and pay the $50 copays. I've gained 15-20 lbs over the last year. Going to start exercising more and watching diet more carefully.
Medications: The GERD is managed with famotidine 30 mins before triggering meals and 5 mg melatonin taken orally before bed. The IBS-D is managed with diet and fiber supplements.
edit: Cardiologist did a 12 lead ECG, blood draw, and urine sample, RN advised to wait till the blood test results are in before proceeding with further tests - just wanted to see if others agree with the advice given the pains have been coming more and more frequently. Also, I'm hoping to start exercising more - is it a good idea to start now or should I wait until the issue is diagnosed? Which types of exercise would be safest if there was an underlying pathology and the PVCs aren't benign?
