I've had an h. Pylori infection for about 10 years. Symptoms include extreme, uncontrollable abdominal pain that lasts for up to 48 hours, bloating, nausea and vomiting, constipation, occasional diarrhea, and firm and bulky stool that causes tearing and bleeding. Dietary changes and exercise have never helped, and doctors have ruled out gallbladder issues. For the first 5 years, it went undiagnosed, and doctors treated it with Nexium and various other acid blockers. When a blood test came back positive, the doctor treated it with Bactrim and an acid blocker. The symptoms persisted. A few years later, a stool sample came back positive again. The doctor treated it with a 14-day course of Metronidazole, Amoxicillin, Clarithromycin, and Pantroprazole. The symptoms improved for about the first half of treatment, then got worse again. Now it's like I never received treatment at all.
It seems like my immune system is just not up to par. I have chronic bronhcitis and stay sick for a month, I had earaches well into my 20s, and I'm constantly sick with something infectious. I've had abscesses, a staph infection, and MRSA. And I know that h. Pylori is notoriously difficult to treat, but I can't erradicate it despite 4 different antibiotics and countless acid blockers. One comorbidity of EDS is CVID, and I am working on looking into that.
With the above information in mind, could anyone offer any insight as to how I can get rid of this awful h. Pylori infection?
Marked *NSFW* for the mention of stool.
