So I've been suffering for around 6 months now with severe Dysphagia to both solids and liquids. I had a barium swallow back in April which revealed a small blip really high up which (according to my report) "may or may not be an esophageal web" so an upper endoscopy was scheduled to check this out.
It's fast approaching, Wednesday, and I wanted to ask you, great doctors of Reddit, is not being sedated a viable option with this procedure? I want my results ASAP and I hate being sedated and feeling not in control of myself. I've read a lot online with VERY opposing viewpoints. Some saying it's traumatic and horrible, others saying it's not nice but bearable and over in a few minutes.
Opinions? Advice?
Thank you.
