How soon after having sex should one be tested for STDs?

male, 22, 150 lbs, 5' 5", white
Everything I'm reading online specifically lays out the different times to get tested for various STDs. Does that mean I should wait 6 weeks so almost all standard tests will be able to test positively or am I supposed to go multiple times for the various different tests. It has been almost 4 weeks since I had unprotected oral sex with a partner whose sexual history I have no knowledge of.
