Abdominal pain I can't explain
Post Body

First off: I'm going to call the doctor tomorrow, but I'd like some insight as quickly as possible. Also: I'm a 26 year old European man.

I've been having abdominal pain for a week now. I believe it started a little above my navel but quite quickly it moved and stayed behind and around my navel. I also feel it in my back sometimes. I am usually good at explaining what kind of pain I have, but this time it's really difficult. It could be a continues cramping, but it also feels like burning. It might be the worst pain I've ever felt, but too be fair: I haven't felt a lot of bad pains in my life.

The pain comes in waves of... 2 hours. It's followed by about half an hour of almost no pain but then it starts all over again. I can't tell if eating and drinking has any effect on it, it's not an instantaneous effect, that's for sure.

My poop is normal, although I now poop 2 or 3 times a day instead of once every day. Urine is also normal and normal amount of times a day.

I take paracetamol for the pain, but I'm not really sure if it's working or not. The only thing that actually relieves the pain is to lay down on either my stomach or back and place a hot pad on top of the area that's in pain. As I start moving about, it takes about 2 minutes for the pain to return.

One last thing: it started on Monday, but it seemed to go away on Wednesday. On Thursday it wasn't bad at all and on Friday it seemed to be gone. But I woke up yesterday morning and it was back again, worse than before.

What could it be?

Edit: I'm average weight and size.

FINAL EDIT: The pain passed eventually after about two weeks after posting this. I was starting to think it could be an abdominal ulcer so I adjusted my diet a bit (cut out spicy food, alcohol, caffeine, too much sugar, too much acid and carbonated drinks) and it didn't come back. I have been eating and drinking normal again and it seems to be gone completely.
