Gout?

Im a 26 y/o female. I broke my big toe in the beginning of August, and ever since, the big joint in my big toe has been in pain. It occasionally burns, and hurts when if Im on it for a long time. I have been seeing a podiatrist, but he makes me uncomfortable and he is the only one my insurance will cover. So, I of course, self diagnosed myself with having gout, but i don't know what to do at this point. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
