Here is the information that I feel is relevant to a respiratory case:
Age: 26
Duration: 2 weeks
Location: Chest, nose, throat, etc
Existing issues: chronic bronchitis, cigarette smoke allergy (non-smoker, non-diabetic)
Current medication: NSAID
Right now, I believe I have another case of chronic bronchitis. But I have a few questions, as the experience has been a bit unusual this time.
Usually, my sputum is green, thick and sticky, like a glue, and the illness progresses logically, with gradual recovery over time. This time, my sputum is a darker green with the occasional dash of blood, and the texture is absolutely repulsive. It feels like there are little rice kernels or rice krispies in it. I can feel it as it comes out. They do not break apart as far as I know. Recovery has also been different, as some days, I think I'm getting better, while other days, I feel worse. There is no consistent progress.
So is this just a typical case of bronchitis, or what? I don't see the doctor again until 5/23. I've tried gargling with salt water, eating warm soup, avoiding junk food, steaming my airway open daily, drinking plenty of water, and resting up, but nothing is really helping.
Any advice is welcome. Thanks.
