Been having it off and on now for several years at least. It comes and goes on it's own accord, with phases usually lasting a couple of days at a time.
the pain is cyclical, in that it happens in these short cycles. It starts with this sensation of a sharp object in my throat, feels like the object is moving in the throat downwards, and then the pain goes away. The feeling of motion comes I believe from the fact that the pain starts small, builds to a peak, and then fades away again. The whole cycle on average lasts maybe 5 seconds.
Its important to note that the pain is only in the back of my throat in the middle of my neck. no other parts are affected (tongue, mouth, nose, or ears). The intensity varies, and I have not been able to make sense of even what triggers it. it seems it comes and goes on its own. Also of note is that the pain is only there during the cycle, after which (between cycles) there's no pain. Swallowing does not hurt, and during one of the pain cycles if i swallow it has no effect on intensity or quality of the pain.
I really want to know what its all about because sometimes it seems like there is some creature attached to my throat and wriggling in there. Anyway was wondering if anyone has any idea what it could be...
