So I just got my blood work back and looks like my A1C was at 9.2%. I’m a 27 year old south Asian male and I’ve never had high glucose before this year (glucose was high when I went to the ER a few weeks ago which freaked me out hence the blood test). My dad also has type 2 diabetes. I do tend to binge drink almost every weekend to be fair so one could’ve expected this result. Other than that, my work has been very stressful the past 6 months and I have moderate (probably like once a quarter) use of MDMA and more frequent use of Adderall (prescribed). The past few weeks I’ve just recovered from a stomach virus which I took antibiotics for. My diet is generally crappy with lots of sweets and carbs and I have limited exercise.
My main questions (as I’m kind of a hypochondriac): - do I have diabetes or is it still early to tell? - what next steps should I take? - how does this impact my overall life expectancy?
