Information about aunt not entirely relevant cause it's more a general question, but here it is so automod doesn't filter: Aunt is female, 56yo, approx 165 and 70kg, no medications, non smoking, no prior medical issues, recently got COVID, no photo necessary.
I don't know enough about medicine to understand whether this is harmful but it intuitively sounds wrong to self-prescribe antibiotics especially if there is no bacterial infection ongoing at this point. I can see the logic of proactively 'helping' your immune system when it's otherwise occupied, but I feel like there must be side effects or dangers related to just taking anti-biotics all willy nilly, especially when antibiotics can have their own side effects and 'antibiotic resistant germs' are becoming a problem.
