I (27M) had unprotected sex with a (25F) stranger after meeting on tinder. She wanted me to cum in her and shared her results (also specifying she has IUD and is infertile) that she does not have stdās so I did the deed.
Now I am very scared as this was my first instance of not using a condom. I am sexually active but always used one.
I also got to know that she has had other partners since she was last checked for stdās.
Can I take a pill or something to lower my chances of std/stiās ? Its been 24 hours. Internet says some kind of prep but I am very scared to take a pill for a month as I suffer from other illnesses too (sleep apnea, heavy weight). Is there a 1-time sort of pill that will affect my body less??
I saw a nurse and she did not answer my question of if I should take PEP or not. She said its my decision and added it to my prescription. This was not at all helpful as I wanted a doctorās answer on if i should take meds or not. Also she prescribed ( Truvada and Isentress and doxocycline monohydrate) which I see is Prep rather than PEP (post exposure?) .
Any second opinions?
She also took my tests rn rather than 20 days later for ābaseā. I never had unprotected sex so i think there was no use of this ābaseā test
