32M - ongoing sore throat - non smoker - rarely drink
I probably wouldn't come here if I wasn't truly at a loss. I've seen 2 different doctors with what will probably be a meeting with an ENT next.
About one month ago, I started developing a consistent sore throat, however this sore throat is much different than any other I've had before. The pain is localized ONLY on the right side of the throat, it only hurts to swallow saliva and not food or liquids, and the position of my neck will determine the amount of pain (if I look to the right very minimal pain if any, if I look straight on or to the left LOTS of pain).
I've been tested for strep, mono, STDs, and all came back negative. All of my bloodwork seems normal in fact. I've been prescribed antibiotics (didn't seem to do anything) and prednisone and flonase. The prednisone actually seemed to help for the 5 days I was taking it, but 2 days after stopping the symptoms came back. Flonase doesn't seem to do anything.
Alongside the sore throat, I've noticed a general level of "not feeling well" that comes and goes however I've never determined if it's connected to the sore throat or not.
The 2 doctors I've seen so far have no idea what could be causing it. One suggested seeing an ENT which will probably have to be my next appointment. I also have an upcoming appointment with a dentist just to be safe.
In the meantime, if anyone has ANY idea what could be causing this, I would truly appreciate the insight. I just want to be armed with as much info as possible at this point.
