Did my ENT mess up?
Post Body

[24F] Hi there! I saw a new ENT today after 3 weeks of ear pain in one ear and being diagnosed with swimmers ear by a PCP and taking ciprodex/sudafed. The ENT wanted to clean out both ears and did with some horribly painful tool, told me I had a fungal ear infection, told me to keep taking ciprodex, and that he would see me in 3 weeks.

I don’t think ciprodex is correct for a fungal ear infection, but also both my ears were bleeding and now have dried blood in them and are very sore to the touch (and I have an awful headache, not sure if that is related).

I’m not a doctor so I don’t want to assume he’s bad but I want to know in case I need to start looking for a new ENT 😅 hopefully not because this is the only one in my area unless I travel an hour. Also welcome to tips on how to care for my sore, bloody ears.
