Nasal septum issues.
33, MALE, 5'7' caucaisian about 180lbs. In the past year I have developed a perforated septum thats pretty large. its not causing me any pain or discomfort but I know its there. my PCP said it was large and i'm being recommended to see an ear nose and throat doctor in the future but i was wondering if this is cause for concern or if people can live without issue with them. I had a fall a few years back where I hit my nose and needed stitches where it meets my upper lip in the center which could relate to this. I also recreationally used substances throughout the years, not recently, but also not to a crazy extent either. Thanks for your input.
Would it also be ok to buy a septum piercing and use it since I basically have the piercing spot already open and available or would that worsen the situation?
