Can intubation from surgery mess up your uvula?
Post Body

I'm 19 FtM, I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, Dysautonomia, and pelvic floor dysfunction. Four days ago I got a colostomy bag and I'm afraid that there may have been a complication during surgery. I should've asked my doctor before I left the hospital, but I'm so used to being gaslit by doctors that I got too scared to ask and now I'm starting to get nervous. I had surgery on the 12th and I just got home from the hospital today. I've been feeling something weird. My throat has been extremely sore, but it also feels like there's a something in the back of my throat. It feels like my uvula is hanging lower than it used to, but I know it just sounds like such a ridiculous thing that I wonder if maybe it's not that. That's exactly what it feels like though. A nurse said it's probably irritation from intubation during surgery, but it doesn't feel like that. This is my 9th surgery and it's the first time I've felt this or had my throat hurt this long for surgery on an unrelated organ. I've been trying to tell people, but nobody seems to really believe me. I'm wondering if I should be worried or if this just isn't a thing. I'm still on pain medications from the surgery and can't walk because the pain medications have been causing full body tremors, so it is possible that the sensation in the back of my throat has something to do with that instead and that I just need to get through this added stress right now. I just, please be understanding that the surgery is already itself a huge adjustment and I have a lot going through my mind overwhelming me right now.
