Was given the cream by a doctor to help with some irritation on my foreskin which was leading to small cuts, dryness and redness. Normally this goes away pretty quickly on it’s own but sometimes flares up for about a week and can be quite painful, also stopping me from cleaning properly and preventing any sexual activity. The ointment is daktacort, miconazole nitrate (2%)and hydrocortisone (1%) also contains polyethylene 5.5% liquid paraffin gel. I used this only a few days and the issue was resolved. Months later I noticed my glans was quite blotchy, and often is but sometimes more than usual, darker and lighter patches. I put some of the ointment on and it cleared up pretty much immediately, so just wondering what this could be and if it’s safe to keep applying this? The doctor didn’t think it was fungal, but didn’t know what caused it, however from my research and others opinions online it seems most likely to be balanitis.
