Distal appendix slightly enlarged, everything else fine, 30M
Post Body

Hey Folks,

Had felt a little bloated/discomfort in the right abdominal area last Thursday so I went to urgent care. They didn't think it was appendicitis just possibly indigestion, but to watch for it. Still felt this way so popped in my PCP Friday who also didn't think it was appendicitis but sent me to get blood work done. Everything, including white blood cell count, came back solid, also took a laxative that day to clear things out. Still felt discomfort/slight general bloating throughout weekend so went to ER yesterday. Urine, ultrasound, blood reading (including white blood cell count) came back solid. On the CT scan they said my distal appendix appears mildly enlarged measuring 9.2 mm in diameter with likely a few tiny appendicoliths. They said the mid appendix is normal appearance and there is no definite adjacent fat stranding. I took an ibuprofen and they sent me home, meeting with a gastrotech Friday. FWIW I've never had a fever, have eaten regularly, and have gone to the bathroom regularly as well. Last Wednesday night I did eat some leftovers of different varieties as well.

Still feeling somewhat weird today, but overall okay. Am I sitting on a ticking timebomb here? Or is this normal and sometimes can get a bit enlarged in that area without requiring surgery? I wasn't told to be on an antibiotics or anything. Just curios if this could go away on it's on or if it may be something else. Thanks in advance if anyone can answer.
