34F 5'6" 150lbs Non-smoking No drinking or recreational drug use Medications: adderall xr 25mg Only medical issues are recurrent uti's, otherwise healthy.
Truly my last ditch effort at understanding. A cry for help.
I need to know whatās āwrongā with me. Doctors, therapists, psychiatrists have been no help.
My labs are good. My blood work is normal, always has been. Blood pressure is on the low end of healthy. Hormones always come back within ānormal rangeā.
Currently taking adderall 25mg xr daily for ADD (dx as a child when thatās what it was called when there is no hyperactivity). Only recently started treating for it as an adult (34 F) because I was desperate to see if maybe adhd has been the culprit of my issues all along, the big thing being exhaustion along with inability to concentrate.
I havenāt done a sleep study but I have a lingering concern that thereās something more to my exhaustion than add related inattentiveness.
When I was a child, and still to this day, I have had humiliating episodes of literally falling asleep in inappropriate situations. School, work. One time I nodded off in mid one-on-one training for work despite ferociously fighting myself in my head to stay awake. I can feel it coming.
Iāve been treated for depression almost my whole life with ssriās. None of them have addressed this issue of fatigue. The adderall helps somewhat, but just that. Somewhat.
As you can imagine, such debilitating tiredness and lack of energy and motivation in and of itself can unsurprisingly lead to more negative feelings about oneself. So Iām left not knowing wtf is the actual issue.
Just depression? It doesnāt feel like it. Just ADD? It feels like thereās something more. Something underlying. Narcolepsy type 2?
I donāt even know where to begin addressing these concerns with my care team. Iāve tried and as I said before all itās got me thus far is adderall.
Any input from a doctor here would be wonderful.
