Hi all, as the title suggests I am a 20 yr old trans woman who has had knee pain for about 3-4 days now and don’t know what to do. As background I didnt exercise much until about 2 weeks ago when I started walking 3-5 miles a day and doing various exercises to lose weight. Additionally I was dieting and wasn’t getting enough calories at that time due to nausea and loss of appetite from what I assume was my sudden diet change.
I own a furniture store and recently had both of our employees quit before a big job and only had one person we could scrounge together to help out, so I had to jump in and help. The job entailed delivering 15 furniture pieces up 4 flights of stairs in an apartment building on a 100 degree day. After several hours we finished the job and I honestly felt great. Somehow my body wasn’t sore at all and I felt like I could jog miles.
The next day I was a little sore, but not as much as I would have expected. My knees were a bit wobbly and tender but i was generally ok. I have since been eating more and putting off exercise in the hopes that my knees will heal. As of today it’s been 4 days since then, and I can barely stand up from a seated position, have to duck walk around, and the area around my patella is tender to the touch, as well as a ligament/tendon on underside of my knee.
Each day it seems to be getting worse and although I can put pressure on it, my knees wobble enough that I’m constantly hyperextending them giving me jolts of pain.
What can I do to help this heal as fast as possible? I need to be able to move and lift things for work otherwise I will lose the business.
Edit: I just pulled up my pant leg to apply a cold compress and there are small bruises that appeared recently polka dotting my actual patella on both legs. About 5 quarter sized bruises on each
